Chairperson Intellectual Property of Pakistan Ambassador (r) Mr. Farukh Amil delivered a talk on the importance and awareness of Intellectual Property (Patents, Copyrights, Trademark etc.) to graduating/graduate students at Ashraf Habibullah AV Hall, NED University of Engineering and Technology on 29-04-2024.
Students from around 28 academic departments of NEDUET who were mainly the group leaders of their Final Year Projects were the main attendees of this important session.
Chairperson IP emphasized in his talk that universities and institutions, especially those engaged in R&PD (Research and Product Development) such as forward-looking businesses, incubation centers, and start-ups that foster a 'can-do' sense of achievability, are critical in changing the mindset of a nation.
The Honorable Vice-Chancellor NEDUET Dr. Sarosh Lodi also graced the occasion and concluded the session with an emphasis on IP for young entrepreneurs and shared that the recently developed IP policy by NEDUET is working as a game changer for students, researchers, and faculty innovators as a pivotal step towards Pakistan’s knowledge economy initiative.
The event was hosted and moderated by Director ORIC Dr. Riaz Uddin and the Team followed by photography and exchange of souvenirs.
